Maximum Security Settings in Outlook Express 6, With Scripting Enabled

Use the following settings to enable most stationery in Outlook Express, including all stationery created with Scrippy, and to also have maximum security from HTML e-mail viruses.

Run Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then click on Internet Options...  Next click on the Security tab in the "Internet Options" window.  Click on the Restricted Sites icon.  Under "Security level for this zone" click Custom Level.

In the "Security Settings" window which is displayed next, if the button labeled Reset is not grayed out, then we recommend starting by resetting the zone to its default settings.  To do this select High in the "Reset to" box and then click the Reset button.  The Reset button should now be gray.

In the "Settings" box, scroll down to the top level entry (one with an icon at the left edge of the box) named Scripting. Immediately under Scripting is an entry for Active Scripting - under this entry (Active Scripting) click on Enable.  Then click Ok, then Yes to confirm, then Ok to exit from the options window.

Note: If the above change does not enable correct viewing of e-mail stationery messages, it may be that your Outlook Express is set to the "Internet" security zone, and that this zone has been customized in Internet Explorer to disable scripting.  To check this possibility please click here.
